462 1000 kilometers without refueling - that was the specification for the long-distance bike. The F 800 GS Adventure has a standard tank volume of 24 liters. To achieve the 1000 kilometer mark, the 800 was fitted with the large Touratech front tank with an additional volume of 20 liters. This results in an approximate tank volume of 44 liters. With a fuel consumption of 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers (at 90 kmh) as quoted by BMW for the F 800 GS Adventure, this should give a positive result for the project „1000 kilomters - no refueling“. For this extension to give a gigantic tank volume, the Touratech prototype experts, TT3D in Murnau, designed a completely new snout which will in future enable using the large tank on the F 800 GS Adventure and the standard 800 as serial component following the recent model revamp. As such a tank system does not make too much sense in Europe, Touratech converted the Adventure for the big wide world: with a luggage system, a new windscreen, the Touratech suspension strut Plug & Travel for BMW ESA, the Extreme Cartridge and other useful accessories.
