Floating piston design. Damping fluids oil and nitrogen are separated, achieving finer shock absorber response. Large 16 mm shaft made from chrome molybdenum steel for maximum stability and durability. Special low-friction seals with integrated Teflon piston band for low wear and long shock absorber life. Strong stainless steel bushings in spring eye ensure the secu- ring bolt is seated firmly with no play even under maximum loads. Available with different spring rates to compensate for heavier or lighter rider and luggage weight. Adjustable rebound damping on shock absorber base with special touring setup. Fully serviceable. Ensures long-lasting maximum ride dynamics. Uniquely solid Touratech hydraulic spring preload with 50% greater adjustment range for short weekend trips or long-distance riding with lots of luggage. External reservoir on shock absorber improves damping fluid cooling for higher damping performance during heavy use. Separate high and low speed damping settings. For precise damping adjust- ment at very high damping frequencies with heavy loads (bad roads, off-road with luggage). PDS – position-dependent damping system. Second damping piston provides hydraulic protection against bottoming out. Shock absorber will not bottom out. Shock absorber length adjustable by 8 mm (-2 mm, +6 mm). Enables basic adjust- ment of bike‘s balance according to motorcycle model. Also adjustment for special conversions or an extreme setup.
